Maria has two BA degrees in film and TV, one in TV- and Film Science and one in TV- and Multimedia Production. After graduating in 2009, she worked as a freelancer in TV for 8 years – mostly as an editor, but also as a post producer, researcher and director/reporter –on entertainment and reality TV productions such as ”MasterChef”, ”Farmen” (”The farm”), ”Sofa” (”Gogglebox”), ”Ettermiddagen”, etc.

Maria started working for Ten Thousand Images in April 2017, and is currently an assistant producer.

Rafat is our co-worker at Ten Thousand Images AS. He is a web designer, web programmer, and is now also learning to edit. He contributes with editing and translations. He speaks Arabic, English, Turkish and soon Norwegian. He arrived in Norway approximately one year ago, as a Syrian refugee.

Mette is an award-winning producer, interactive producer, and editor of independent documentary films. She started her career as an editor and has been doing that for the last 20 years. In 2014, she founded her own production company, Ten Thousand Images AS, based in Norway.

Within Ten Thousand Images, she has produced and edited the award-winning feature-length documentary No Word for Worry, as well as New Words for Worry and Kabang – Nordic Origins. Her most recent production Nowhere to Hide is critically acclaimed and has won several international awards including first prize at IDFA in the feature-length Documentary Competition.

TED-X speaker and award-winning Norwegian film director and cinematographer. Runar’s work ranges from documentaries and feature films to commercials, and he has shot films all over the world – from refugee camps and war zones to remote jungles and the open sea.

His latest film “No Word for Worry” is currently on the international film festival circuit, and is helping one of the worlds poorest indigenous groups – the Moken Sea Nomads – towards a sustainable future.

Director and Photographer Zaradasht Ahmed is a Kurdish/Norwegian Filmmaker. He was born and raised in Northern Iraq. His previous work includes the award-winning “Road to Diyarbakir” and “Fata Morgana”. His latest film “Nowhere to Hide” is critically acclaimed and has won several prestigious international prizes including Best Feature Length Documentary at IDFA (2016), Best Documentary at the One World Human Rights Festival (2017), the Audience Award at Thessaloniki Film Festival (2017), the Nestor Almendros Prize for courage in filmmaking at the Human Rights Watch FF (New York 2017), the Citizen Journalists prize from Traverse City FF (2017), and the Norwegian AMANDA for Best Documentary (2017). Zaradasht has many years of experience working with documentary filmmaking in the Middle East, North-Africa, and Asian regions, as well as experience training locals in documentation.

Terje has a very diverse professional experience ranging from construction work, through heavy psychiatry to project management and film bureaucracy. For the last 20 years he has been associated with the film industry; first as a screenwriter, then props and set designer, and for the last four years as a project manager at the Norwegian Film Association.

Today he works as a screenwriter, director and creative producer.

Anwar Saab was born in Lebanon and graduated from the London International Film School with distinction in Cinematography in 1987. Since 1987 he has worked through his own film production company 1001 Films. Anwar has directed and produced films for BBC2, Channel 4, NRK and other television stations. He also works as a cameraman and editor. Since he moved permanently to Norway in 1995 his film work has focused on education, public awareness, anti-discrimination and other topics that contribute to social welfare and cultural understanding. Anwar is the director and editor of “Kindred Spirits”.
